2.3 Accreditation and Licensing
The University of Virginia has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) since 1904. The last reaffirmation of the University’s accreditation was in 2017. In addition, a significant number of the University’s academic programs and schools undergo review by accrediting or licensing agencies. This listing does not include Medical Center accreditations. The Office of Academic Compliance (OAC) collaborates with schools to ensure institutional alignment with SACSCOC accreditation standards, and federal and state academic compliance requirements.
